Evaluation of the Impact of Urban Forestry on Urban Heat Island

The purpose of this study is to statistically evaluate the impact urban forestry on heat Island in Umuahia city, located Eastern Nigeria using Land Surface Temperature (LST) time series. LST datasets were extracted from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS, MYD11A2 V6) satellite Python and JavaScript Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Two microclimate environments considered namely: Densely sparsely populated areas three different locations each. Each location had 976 observations starting 18th February 2000 1st May 2021. Auto-regressive Moving Average (ARMA) was used model predict series future points each location; accuracy measured Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) Root Square (RMSE). surface temperature selected monitored results showed an average observed temperatures difference 2.90C between Populated Sparsely areas.
